Paine Plows Through Laredo Field on Gulf Coast Tour

San Antonio’s Ruth Paine dominated the second stop of the 2026 Gulf Coast Tour Season, held at its newest tour venue, Iturbide Pool House in Laredo, Texas. Paine plowed through a stout field of competitors, defeating Carmel Luttrell in the first set of the true, double elimination final, 7-4.

On February 7th, 2026, Iturbide Pool House in Laredo, Texas, hosted its first event for the players of the Gulf Coast Tour. The Tour would like to thank Iturbide for hosting a first-rate event, and the following tour sponsors for their continued support; Poison by Predator Cues, Predator Cues, Outsville Billiards, and Team Straight Pool Eye. The one-day event featured a $500 added purse, drew 8 players, and paid out $700 in prize money. Predator provided Arcos II Ball Sets for each table, while Outsville Billiards supplied Accu-Racks, for discussion-free racking.

Battling their way to the hotseat, Ruth Paine defeated Janet Mendiola, 7-2, and Miriam Ramos, 7-6, while Carmel Luttrell denied Heather Parsons, 7-5, and Liz Yorek, 7-1. The hotseat match witnessed Paine overcome Luttrell, 7-4. On the west side, Mendiola made a comeback, eliminating Virgine Martin and Yorek, 5-4, while Parson denied Jesse Hammer, 5-3, and Ramos, 5-4. In the final four, Mendiola sent Parsons packing, 5-4, but fell to Luttrell, 5-1. In the final match, Paine defeated Luttrell, 7-6, to secure her first-ever, Tour win.

The Tour would like to thank all the women who came out to support this inaugural event at Iturbide Pool House and officially welcome any first-time players.

The next event is March 13th-14th at Big Tyme Billiards in Spring, Texas.
