Peters Packs Punch on Gulf Coast Tour

Courtney Peters captured the final stop on the Gulf Coast Women’s Regional Billiards Tour, held at Big Tyme Billiards in Spring, Texas. Peters bested Angie Payne in the final match, to secure her first victory of the Tour season.

On October 12th, 2024, sponsors Poison by Predator Cues, Predator Cues, APA of North Harris County, Alamo Billiards, Outsville Billiards, and Team Straight Pool Eye, produced another successful event for the women of the Gulf Coast Tour. The one-day event featured a $500 added purse, drew 15 players, and paid out $875 in prize money. Big Tyme Billiards provided twenty-four, 7’ bar tables for match play, all covered in Predator Arcadia Reserve, tournament blue cloth, in a smoke-free environment. Predator provided Arcos II Pool Balls and Outsville Billiards supplied Accu-Rack template racks, for each table.

In the final four on the winners’ side, Angie Payne defeated Amy Barndt, 7-1, and Courtney Peters denied Robyn Petrosino, 7-3. Hot seat action witnessed Peters surpass Payne, 7-3. On the west side, in the final eight, Teresa Garland shut out Annie Swelgin, 5-0, and Barndt, 5-2. Lana Kopsie eliminated Brandi Gilchriest, 5-3, but fell to Petrosino, 5-0. Garland ousted Petrosino, 5-4, but lost to Payne, 5-2. Payne and Peters teed off in the final match. Peters proved too much for Payne, closing out the first set, 7-4.

The Tour would like to congratulate Natalie Rocha on becoming the 2025 Tour Champion, for a second, consecutive year. Rocha held an impressive record, capturing four out of the six events held this year.

The season opener will be held January 4th-5th, 2025, at Big Tyme Billiards in Spring, Texas.
